Questions owners ask

Can we offer a 401(k), SEP IRA or IRA through Gigaverse?+

Gigaverse does not offer a 401(k) or SEP IRA plan today. We are exploring plan options with partners; tell us what your workforce needs and we will tell you honestly what we can do and when.

What does it cost the business owner?+

Worker accounts on the Free plan cost the employer nothing. Program pricing for co-branded onboarding, roster sync and reporting is set per program on a short call. Our aim is low or no cost to the business owner.

Do we have to sponsor or administer a plan?+

No. Gigaverse is not an employer-sponsored plan. You invite workers; each worker opens their own account. You do not take on plan-sponsor duties.

Can our 1099 contractors join our 401(k)?+

Generally no: a company 401(k) covers employees, not independent contractors. Contractors can open their own Solo 401(k), SEP IRA or IRA; see our guide at gigaverse.ai/401k-for-1099-workers.

Does inviting contractors affect how they are classified?+

Gigaverse does not change anyone's worker classification and does not provide legal or tax advice about it. Talk to your counsel about classification.

How does this relate to my state's auto-IRA mandate?+

Most state mandates apply to W-2 employees, not contractors. Gigaverse is not a state program and does not satisfy a state mandate by itself. Use our state tracker to see your state's rules.
