Fact check — verified against the executive order

Is TrumpIRA.gov real?

Yes — it's real, and it's not live yet. Executive Order 14403 (signed April 30, 2026) directs the U.S. Treasury to launch TrumpIRA.gov by January 1, 2027. That gap between announcement and launch is exactly where impostors operate — here's how to verify the real thing.

Four ways to verify it yourself

The executive order exists

Executive Order 14403 — “Promoting Retirement-Savings Access for American Workers by Establishing TrumpIRA.gov” — was signed April 30, 2026. You can read the full text on whitehouse.gov.

The deadline is in the order itself

The order directs the U.S. Treasury to have TrumpIRA.gov operational by January 1, 2027. Until Treasury launches it, there is no real TrumpIRA.gov to sign into.

The $1,000 match is existing law

The up-to-$1,000 federal Saver's Match comes from the SECURE 2.0 Act and takes effect in 2027. The order promotes it; it does not invent a new benefit.

It's a marketplace, not an account

TrumpIRA.gov will be a comparison site listing low-cost IRAs from private financial institutions. The government will not hold your money — the provider you choose will.

Red flags: it's not live until January 1, 2027

  • Anyone claiming they can “sign you up for TrumpIRA.gov” before January 1, 2027 — the platform is not live.
  • Look-alike domains (trump-ira.com, trumpiragov.org, etc.) asking for your Social Security number or bank login.
  • Promises of a “guaranteed $1,000 from Trump” — the real Saver's Match is income-limited, takes effect in 2027, and is paid into a retirement account, not to you in cash.
  • Fees to “reserve your spot.” The executive order requires listed IRAs to have no minimums, and a government comparison site charges nothing to browse.

Frequently asked questions

Is TrumpIRA.gov real or fake?+

Real — but not live yet. Executive Order 14403, signed April 30, 2026, directs the U.S. Treasury to build TrumpIRA.gov, a federal marketplace of low-cost IRAs for workers without an employer retirement plan. The order gives Treasury until January 1, 2027 to launch it. Until then, any site or caller claiming to enroll you in TrumpIRA.gov is not the real program.

Is TrumpIRA.gov a government-run retirement account?+

No. It's a government-run comparison website. The IRAs listed on it are offered by private financial institutions — you pick a provider, and that private provider holds your account. To be listed, an IRA must cap all-in fees at 0.15%, carry no minimum balance or contribution, and offer diversified or target-date options.

How do I avoid Trump IRA scams?+

Verify everything against two official sources: the executive order text on whitehouse.gov and IRS.gov for Saver's Match rules. Never give your SSN or bank login to a site claiming to be TrumpIRA.gov before January 1, 2027, be suspicious of look-alike domains, and remember the real match is income-limited and paid into a retirement account — never cash up front.

Did Trump create a new $1,000 retirement benefit?+

The TrumpIRA.gov platform is new (from the April 2026 executive order). The up-to-$1,000 match is the existing federal Saver's Match from the SECURE 2.0 law, effective 2027 — a 50% match on up to $2,000 you contribute, for eligible lower- and moderate-income savers. Changing the benefit amount would require Congress.

Is Gigaverse part of TrumpIRA.gov?+

No. Gigaverse AI, Inc. is not affiliated with the U.S. government and is not a listed provider on TrumpIRA.gov — the platform isn't live yet and Treasury hasn't published its listing process. Gigaverse builds the PRActicle™, a low-cost portable Roth IRA for gig workers — the kind of low-cost account the order is designed to promote — and publishes educational explainers like this one.
