When does TrumpIRA.gov launch?
January 1, 2027
Executive Order 14403 gives the U.S. Treasury until January 1, 2027 to have the marketplace operational, and the $1,000 Saver's Match it promotes takes effect in 2027. It is not live today — here's the verified timeline.
The timeline, from the primary sources
Executive Order 14403 signed
“Promoting Retirement-Savings Access for American Workers by Establishing TrumpIRA.gov” directs the U.S. Treasury to build a federal marketplace of low-cost IRAs for workers without an employer plan.
Treasury rulemaking (in progress)
Treasury still has to publish the full listing criteria for providers and the application process. Until it does, no institution — including any that says otherwise — is a “listed provider.”
TrumpIRA.gov must be operational
The launch deadline written into the order. This is when workers can actually browse and compare listed IRAs on the platform.
The Saver's Match takes effect
The existing SECURE 2.0 benefit the platform promotes: a 50% federal match on up to $2,000 contributed — up to $1,000 a year — for eligible lower- and moderate-income savers, paid into a pre-tax retirement account.

What gig workers can do before launch day
- Open a low-cost IRA now — the accounts the marketplace will list are the kind you can already open, and contributions you make now have longer to compound.
- Track your income and set your savings rate — the Saver's Match rewards contributions, so knowing what you can contribute is the head start.
- Learn the match rules early — it's income-limited, takes effect in 2027, and must be paid into a pre-tax account (not a Roth). Roth-only savers generally need a second, pre-tax account to receive it.
- Bookmark the primary sources — the executive order on whitehouse.gov and IRS.gov for Saver's Match rules — and ignore anything that contradicts them.

Frequently asked questions
When does TrumpIRA.gov launch?+
By January 1, 2027. That deadline is written into Executive Order 14403 (signed April 30, 2026), which directs the U.S. Treasury to have the platform operational by that date. The Saver's Match it promotes also takes effect in 2027.
Is TrumpIRA.gov live right now?+
No. As of today the platform is not operational — Treasury has until January 1, 2027 to launch it, and it also hasn't yet published the listing criteria or application process for providers. Anyone claiming to enroll you in TrumpIRA.gov before launch is not the real program.
Could the launch be delayed?+
The executive order sets January 1, 2027 as the deadline, and that's the only date in the primary sources. Whether Treasury hits it depends on the rulemaking still in progress — we track the Federal Register for TrumpIRA.gov rulemaking daily and update our guides when anything changes.
What happens between now and launch?+
Treasury has to publish the listing criteria (the order requires listed IRAs to cap all-in fees at 0.15%, carry no minimums, and offer diversified or target-date options — plus 'other criteria as directed by the Secretary') and stand up the application process for providers. Provider listings can only happen after that.
Do I have to wait for the launch to get an IRA?+
No — and waiting has a cost. TrumpIRA.gov is a comparison site; the low-cost IRAs it will point to are offered by private providers you can already use today. Starting now means your contributions have more time to compound and you're positioned for the 2027 Saver's Match. Educational information, not advice.
Will Gigaverse be on TrumpIRA.gov at launch?+
Gigaverse is not a listed provider — nobody is yet, because Treasury hasn't opened the listing process. Gigaverse's PRActicle™ is a low-cost portable Roth IRA for gig workers, the kind of account the order is designed to promote, and we're following the rulemaking closely. Gigaverse is not affiliated with the U.S. government.
